Guidelines for Outside Professionals
Please give these guidelines to your photographer and/or videographer and florist.

Guidelines for Photographers and Videographers
Welcome to the Church of St. Michael! To help you utilize your talent in the celebration of this marriage, we would like to share the following guidelines with you.

  1. Due to the number of weddings at St. Michael's and in order to be fair to all couples, our policy is that each couple may use the church for three hours, including the wedding ceremony.

The 11:00 a.m. Saturday wedding has access to the church from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The 2:00 p.m. Saturday wedding has access to the church from 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. There are no exceptions to this schedule.  Please arrange pictures accordingly.

The schedule is generally more flexible for Friday evening weddings. However, another couple’s wedding rehearsal might be scheduled after your wedding ceremony.
  2. Pictures must be completed one half hour before the start of the ceremony.
  3. If chairs, candles, flowers, etc. are moved for group pictures, they must be returned to their original places when pictures in the church are completed.
  4. Pictures during the service are permitted as long as no flash is used and prayer is not distracted. Close-up shots are inappropriate during the service. Please limit the movement of photographers during the service.
  5. The photographer is not allowed in the center aisle during the entrance procession, recessional procession or the ceremony.
  6. We remind you that this is a church and that Marriage is a sacrament. We will not allow pictures that compromise the dignity and sacred character of Marriage.

Guidelines for Florists

Please plan accordingly.

For Friday evening weddings, the schedule is more varied, although another couple’s wedding rehearsal might be scheduled after your wedding.
  2. The environment is often decorated according to the liturgical season of the Church year. These decorations will remain in place. You may enhance these decorations with floral arrangements or plants. Floral arrangements may be placed on the high altar (but must not block the tabernacle) or on the side altars. No flowers or additional candles may be placed on the front (wooden) altar.
  3. The church has a unity candle stand. The couple or the florist should provide unity candles. (Center candle = 3” and side tapers = 1”)
  4. No free standing candelabra or single candle stands with chimneys (regardless if electric or battery operated) are to be allowed in the Sanctuary or center aisle.
  5. Because of the carpeted church, an aisle cloth is optional. The couple is responsible for obtaining their own aisle runner, if they choose to use one. St. Michael's aisle is 100 feet long.
  6. Please pick up the pots, stands, aisle cloth, etc. immediately after the wedding. The church is not responsible for these items if they are left to be picked up at a later time.
  7. Two weddings are often scheduled on Saturdays - one at 11:00 a.m. and one at 2:00 p.m. As a cost saving measure, couples may wish to consider sharing floral arrangements. Please call Julie Terwey, wedding coordinator, at the Parish Office at 651-439-4400  to inquire about these plans.
